As another day in lockdown approaches, another delicious recipe springs to mind! While stuck at home bored, try out these super cool fiery cupcakes that will put a bit of spice into your life.

INGREDIENTS
145g self-raising flour
135g unsalted butter
125g light brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
3 eggs
1 tbsp milk
For the buttercream:
195g unsalted butter
280g icing sugar
3 tbsp milk
For decorations:
2 Flakes
Red, orange and yellow fondant icing
METHOD
Heat the oven to gas mark 4. Line 12 cupcake cases into a muffin tin.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Mix the flour and spices in a separate bowl. Add the eggs one at a time into the butter and sugar mixture, then gradually add the flour. Stir in the milk.
Spoon the mixture into the cupcake cases and bake for 20 minutes. Once done, leave to cool.
Mix all of your buttercream ingredients together and pipe onto your cupcakes.
For the decorations, break up your flakes into smaller pieces (you want them to look like little twigs) and place them onto the icing on your cupcakes in a bonfire shape. Next, take your fondant icing (in each colour) and place little flame looking pieces onto and around the broken up flakes.
Enjoy!
